Murchison Falls is where the Nile bursts through a narrow gorge and chutes down to become a placid river whose banks are swamped with hippo and crocodile, waterbuck and buffalo. Queen Elizabeth National Park nurtures healthy populations of elephant, lion, hippo and other larger mammals and a boat trip on the Kazinga Channel gets you closer to the wildlife.
