Your Passport
We will need to know your full name exactly as it appears on your passport, as well as the passport expiration date. It’s helpful to have that information in front of you just to make sure there are no discrepancies.
Visa Application
A Uganda, Rwanda or Kenya visa can be acquired on arrival, please check with your consulate to verify. However due to Covid pandemic, you may be required to have your application done online to avoid direct contact with immigration officials.
Tracking and Entry Permits
Gorilla permits are a scarce commodity and full payment is required by the authorities before issuance. On confirmation of your trip, make permit payments immediately to avoid disappointments.
Fitness & Ability
Some safaris require different levels of activity. Each tour itinerary will detail the physical requirements for each safari. Keep in mind that some sites do not have handicapped accessibility due to their location and formation, so make sure you’ll be able to access those important must-sees before you book.
Travel Insurance
If you’re going to travel with us, you’ll need to have adequate insurance already in place. When booking your safari, make sure that your insurance fully covers all of your personal requirements like medical expenses, repatriation, helicopter rescue and air ambulance in the unlikely event that you should need such services. Your insurance should extend beyond the planned duration of your safari by at least one extra day.
Booking Terms & Conditions
When you book your safari, we’ll ask if you’ve read and understand the Booking Terms and Covid Policy. Although lots of people don’t like to read the fine print, we promise it won’t be as painful as you think and we encourage you to do so. There are a lot of very helpful and interesting details included that you’ll need to know.

Best Time To Go
East Africa’s raised topography means a cooler climate than its equatorial setting suggests but if you’re planning a gorilla trekking safari, it’s important to know when to go to Uganda for the easiest trekking conditions. Although it’s regarded as a year-round activity, the best time to visit Uganda/Rwanda for gorilla trekking is during the country’s two dry seasons: January and February and from June to September.
Africa safari game viewing in East Africa’s savannah parks is best at the end of the dry seasons – February through March and September through early October – when wildlife is concentrated around water sources. Bird watching is fantastic all year round but is at its peak between November and April when migrant species are present. April and May, even when considered the rainy season, its great time to visit Uganda and the Gorillas. The views are stunning and it rains mostly in the afternoon for 1 hr and not tempering with activities.
