Why Nkuringo Safaris

Nkuringo Safaris represents more than one and a half decades of refining our craft and understanding the destinations and our guests' needs. For us, the Africa safari is very personal. We want our travellers to see it through our eyes, through the eyes of our local employees. We treat our guests as though they are members of our family. And simply by booking a safari with us, you support a family of a local through employment and our community programs. Those Familial values inspire us to create memorable experiences for every guest.

3. Entirely local

The owner is Ugandan, lives in Uganda, and is a woman. Eva Lydia Mpanga is a senior consultant and is directly involved in planning trips with customers. In addition, the entire team is local, with an average of a decade of safari logistics, management, and service experience. Our open and transparent way of working with locals and travellers enables access to extraordinary people, places, and experiences.

5. We love our local communities & natural resources.

Responsible travel is at the heart of everything we do and every decision we make; we firmly believe travel should be a force for good. By uniting with our employees, partners and travellers, we can positively impact our local communities and natural resources.

Responsible travel policy

VEHICLES, DRIVERS, & GUIDES

Nkuringo Safaris is one of the few companies owning its vehicles. These are custom four and six-seater 4x4 Land Cruisers managed by local pro driver guides who have driven the assigned route more than ten times.

We use 4x4 Safari Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs and sliding windows most ideal for game viewing, sightseeing, and wildlife photography without compromising leg space and comfort. Each vehicle is equipped with the right tools for the journey with safety as a primary concern.

We have an on-site professional mechanic that ensures the vehicles are maintained to operational standards before dispatch.

When a vehicle breaks down during the trip, the guide driver will contact the maintenance manager to provide an immediate replacement with minimal inconvenience to the guests.

More than half of our field guides work exclusively for Nkuringo Safaris and have to attend regular training courses to stay relevant and conscious on job. In addition, we also have freelance professional guides always available to fill the gap.
